It’s another Sherlock Holmes comic…this one features Watson roasting Holmes's messiness for the newspaper and Holmes skillfully maneuvering his way out of having to do chores.
None of this is new to me. I have read this story and seen it dramatized before. Yet, there is a warmth, an intimacy, a novelty to this scene as you have presented it. It's fun and it's fresh, thanks to your artistic vision and your skill as a comics storyteller. Well done.
BTW, I am a free subscriber currently, but with the new year I want to upgrade to paid. Unfortunately, there is no option for me to do so on the "manage subscription" page. Is there something you can do on your end, or does the problem lie with Substack?
I love this!! Watson's expression as he hears the gunshots, then the book excerpt overlaying a much-less-refined version of his actual dialogue, is comedy GOLD.
The overlay of Watson's prim and proper account covering up his loss of temper is *chef's kiss* brilliant. I read all your comics, but rarely comment, so I really wanted you to know how clever and well done I thought that panel in particular was! Absolutely love this!
Oh this is glorious. I've read the Holmes stories so many times, and this is just absolutely the sweetest way of bringing their partnership and love to life.
🥺🥺 molly im OBSESSED!! Do not make me pull out the sherlock tome and reread his adventures… also the cold bath and porridge bit is so cute, so them, and so you. ❤️❤️
Every time I see a subject line from this newsletter that implies that it is another Sherlock Holmes comic, I am so thrilled. Please continue, if you want, because it is not getting old.

thank you! I have such a passion for illustrating passages like this, which can read very quickly, and really drawing out the details

I don’t have a paid subscription option right now but thank you for the thought!!
Oh OK. I was worried it was me.
On an unrelated note, do you have any idea when (or if) you and Mr. Mulligan will finish Strong Female Protagonist?

Sherlock’s messiness feels so autism and adhd coded… 🤣 I feel called out by the papers piling up everywhere, my room is exactly the same way
Their domesticity kills me. 😍

Gah! The fond exasperation! The teasing! You draw them with such tenderness and it beautifully enhances the love ACD wrote between them.

I love these Holmes comics so much! The tiny eye dagger and teasing about telling the case after cleaning up really get Holmes' sense of humor across

I love the colors and the atmosphere. Their characters are complement each other so much❤️
I love this so SO much
Hey what Sherlock Holmes story is this from? (I want to know so I can find it 👀) or is the narration and dialogue not from a direct quote?
It’s from the beginning of the Musgrave Ritual! Except the part about the porridge which I made up :)
Thank you!! ❤️
Aaaaaw that is so cute <3
Gotta love the original Gap Moe!
Funny stuff!
