I am just CACKLING at the insult exchange panel and adoring how you write Holmes/Watson's banter and interactions. The way you've adapted the writing style of the books into comics is super clever! Brb, I'm adding Sherlock Holmes to the list of classics that need a gay graphic novel adaptation by you (the estates are cool with it, I asked them /j).

it doesn't even matter what the estates say because Mr. Holmes is in public domain and ANYONE can do ANYTHING

EXCELLENT

"Holmes the Scotland Yard jack-in-office". Even insultingly describing his lead character, Doyle was poetic.

Just loved these -- thank you so much for sharing them! (Just giggling uncontrollably through The Speckled Band drawings -- some hilarious observations on ACD's text.)

And yes, all the Sherlockia about dating the stories in the canon; academic debates by the bushel-full . I use the Baring-Gould story order myself -- though probably because I grew up with his Annotated Sherlock Holmes volumes.

I'm reading the Annotated right now! loving all the historical context, hating how every inconsistency is explained by "as scholars agree, Watson was on his twelfth marriage at this time" lmao

Oh God, I'd forgotten - B-G posits Watson going through at least 3 marriages. All because of timeline inconsistencies with Watson living away from the 221B.

(B-G was certainly not alone in this. Sometimes is difficult for me to determine whether these essays were written as earnest scholorship or shitposts.)

Absolutely amazing Holmes and Watson, as usual! Also, you should know: I had a dream that I checked my email, and I saw you had posted a comic that was just titled “lesbian”. I opened it, and all that was there was one text box saying “hark! a lesbian”

These are so perfect!!!! <3 I love how you draw them!

I've been (re)reading the short Sherlock Holmes stories with my friends last year (thanks to the *Letters from Watson* newsletter!) so your hyperfixation on Holmes and Watson occurs at just the right time for us! :')

Also, we watched The Dancing Men episode from the Granada serie last week, and it was SO GOOD 😍 Sherlock and John are very much married roomates in this one -- and they even *work on cracking the code together*! and then Watson is so proud of them!! and he explains how they did it and Holmes is just watching him while he talks and he's also so proud of him and they are both very gay i love them <3 <3 <3

eeee i’m squealing and kicking my feet

Okay but I find it so funny that you drew the cab scene from A Study In Scarlet because when I first read that scene and I got to the line “My companion flushed up with pleasure at my words, and the earnest way in which I uttered them” my Johnlock detector started beeping

The Speckled Band is my favorite Holmes story too, it's so suspenseful! Delighted to learn it was ACD's fave as well haha.

Brilliant as usual. Always use downtime if you have the energy and focus. Write up a book pitch so you can send it out there as you get back to "the day job "......it will come back to you as a book contract when you need it !
