Also when you’re done reading Sherlock, can I recommend the Raffles series by EW Hornung (ACDs brother in law) it’s very similar, but crime making rather than crime solving!
Omg I cannot express how many feelings I am having about this
A few things:
Holmes’s hands trembling actually broke my heart 💔 the poor guy is so terrified but in such a hidden way
And poor Watson, from his perspective he’s just being completely left in the dark on how Holmes feels and he’s so fed up with it!
It’s a mark of top tier storytelling how you can see perfectly what each person is feeling, but then ALSO see how the other person misunderstands it
Like I’ve literally been rereading it a bunch of times, first going ‘now it’s from Holmes’s perspective’ and then ‘now it’s from Watson’s perspective’
Also! The fact that they actually, finally kissed! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 (I think it’s lowkey hilarious that such an important scene happened with Watson having awful hat hair from a whole day of moor-ing)
