If you’re in San Francisco, I’ll be at the Peninsula Libraries Comic Arts Festival this Saturday, April 6 - I’ll be in conversation with Ngozi Ukazu at 12:30, with a signing and giveaway afterwards!
ANDDDDDD here’s some more Holmes. I am calling this series Watson’s Sketchbook. First is the Greek Interpreter, where after seven years of friendship Holmes casually reveals he has a brother:
then I was thinking about the significance of Holmes introducing Watson to his brother (a subtle “do you approve?”) and Mycroft feeling protective, so I blacked out and drew this imagined conversation. Context - Victor Trevor is probably Holmes’s only other friend besides Watson, from his college days, but in the books they are no longer friends for unclear reasons.
And here are some drawings for the Beryl Coronet, in which Holmes makes a bad sandwich:
"The Diogenes Club is the queerest club in London, and Mycroft one of the queerest men."
The Victor Trevor conversation, like the best fan fictions, feels like a lost page from ACD's notebook.
