sketchbook: the blue carbuncle part 2
(skip the first paragraph if you're not in the mood for politics talk)
hi! How are you all doing? Personally, I’m feeling incredibly determined to survive my country’s descent into fascism. I’m going to live to be an old queer person, if I have to fight and claw and scream and get weird and scary to do so, and I’m bringing as many people along as I can (you don’t have to be queer, but you DO have to be weird). Basically, I’m done being scared, long done feeling betrayed, and ready to fight for the things I hold dear.
Some housekeeping - I’m launching a preorder system for print versions of Watson’s Sketchbook Volume 1 (A STUDY IN SCARLET through SECOND INTERLUDE) - it goes live today, 11/11, at at 9:00am PST/12:00 noon EST/5:00pm GMT, at the link. I’m aiming to get all copies shipped by the end of January 2025. My first two print runs sold incredibly quickly - this one is a lot larger, but if you’re interested in a copy, still worth hustling over there to place an order!
And here’s this week’s update (sorry for missing it last week!):
One more update to come in this chapter!
New slogan: We're weird, we're queer, we're here, get used to it.
I'm so sorry about the election. Even in the UK it's been heartbreaking to watch friends feel so scared and powerless about what to do next, but I'm resolved to turn that anger into action, care, and love I can give to the people I care about. We're not going down without a fight even if we have to get a bit weird with it. Where's the fun in not being weird anyway? It can feel like you're so alone when things get this bad, but reaching a point where you're willing to bite and scratch to prove you belong in this world is something I'm trying to embrace.
Also hell yeah I'll be pre-ordering gay holmes!!
